Frequently Asked Questions
What is Claimly?
Our goal is to help patients get the most out of their medical insurance.
Today, we focus on helping small medical practices serve out-of-network patients, by reducing both the patient's out-of-pocket expenses and the clinic's risk.
Who is Claimly for?
Claimly is designed for small-medium medical practices, who wish to accept out-of-network patients without making life too hard for them and without taking risks.
Why should I use Claimly in my medical practice?
When you treat an out-of-network patient, you normally have two options: either charge the patient your full fee (and let them handle the insurance), or charge them for a portion of the fee, and bill their insurance as out-of-network for the rest (and hope to get paid in a few weeks).
Claimly offers you a third option: Charge the patient for their portion, and Claimly will pay you the rest right away. We will then work things out with the insurance later.
This gives you the best of both worlds: The patient doesn't need to pay the insurance's part, and you don't run the risk of not being paid for your service. As a bonus, you also get paid right away instead of waiting for the billing process to complete.
How would I use Claimly?
When you on-board a new patient, you'll scan their insurance ID card and provide us with the treatment plan and rates. We'll immediately make you an offer for sharing the costs between Claimly and the patient.
If you accept the offer, we'll pull the superbill after every visit, and pay you the insurance's share. We'll then file the claim with the insurance, and get our money back from them.
What if the insurance doesn't pay?
You take no risks. If we failed to get money back from the insurance company, we will not ask you for the money we already paid you—we'll just learn from our mistake. We might have to update the offer we gave for this patient though.
How do you make a living?
When we make you an offer, we take a percentage off what we think we can get from the payer—to cover our expenses and risks.
How much does it cost?
Our fee is 5% of the estimated reimbursement.
How do you ensure my patients' privacy?
We secure the data—yours and your patients'—using the highest standards and best-practices available. All information is always encrypted in our databases and servers, and the connection is secured using 256bit SSL encryption.
